What I want to focus on
Real-world institutions and events on chain modelling
I really want to connect the outside world to the blockchain world. I do believe blockchain is so exclusive and secluded that which it hinders itself from being useful. But we have lots of inefficiencies in our institutions (Banks, NGOs, mobile money, business operations, etc), that can benefit a lot from accessing on-chain functionalities.
So I revised a plan and a lab to focus solely on working on that. I believe Cryptographic Proving Systems can be vital for that. Re-modelling those institutions and operations to be represented on-chain.
One simple Idea that I was thinking of starting with is connecting mobile money to on-chain. How? well we take the sim-card and have the password set in place and feed the code to modify the password in FHE(Fully Homormophic encryption) and making sure that the new password is opaque and core logic to manage fund is managed on chain, and if it withdraws or deposit we can generate a proof to verify that action. With that, we can onboard lots of East Africans on chain but also extend the wide range of financial products that can give them a broader horizon.
I will embark on this journey with my few friends who share the same vision. One thing is I hate how current experts in this field behave, they are so focused on flexible their brain muscle to see who will build the next fastest or complex L1 protocol. But we do forget we have to show something, or this industry is doomed.
And thanks to my country, Tanzania, for opening a sandbox program along with the Bank of Tanzania to onboard blockchain-related products so that they can make policies that foster high-paced development.
Will it be hard, yes, will it be worth it? hopefully. But why am I doing this? It started in 2019 where Jutta Steiner spoke on how we can use math to coordinate society and give them leveraged tools.
I want to do that, I want to build a portal/bridge between our physical world to a commitment and verifiable world.
Just imagine having a predictable agreement between a company outside Africa to a Tanzanian company on operations regardless of policy changes. Because your agreement and model of operation is on chain and you have a link with it with the physical side.
That will streamline Investment and business partnerships between outside companies and local ones.
I will need all the help I can get, but I won't stop until I see people and institutions getting value and gaining leverage that is possible in web3.
